Lord, I know you know who I am and you love me. So, why do you allow me to suffer from pain and discomfort? I struggle to just walk. I can’t hold on to things. It’s so embarrassing in public.
As I study your Word I realize that you have never promised me a safe, comfortable or even a life without any kind of trials.
Now I know that these trials make me stronger. As I am struggling with things, it forces me to rely upon and trust in You more. And after the trial, I can usually see why I went through it. Because you “never let the hurt go unused”. Like my trials in my younger years with alcohol. If I hadn’t gone through that, I would never be able to relate to the alcoholic today. And in the ministry, you have called me to serve in #CelebrateRecovery.
I am able to lead so many people to you that are struggling with this illness. Because I have learned that without you, it is impossible, to conquer from all those things the evil one uses to keep us out of your presence, but with you nothing is impossible. Thank you, Lord, for your wisdom. I know your ways are not my ways. Your timing is not my timing. But, I trust in you alone. Because I know you are faithful to all of your promises.
I have prayed and many of my friends pray concerning our struggles daily. I know you hear the cries of the people that I am ministering to and all those that work for you daily in #CelebrateRecovery worldwide. What must I do? Give me the wisdom to lead others to you, in Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.
When I feel like giving up, I cry out to my Savior and He hears me.
‘So when the Ishmaelites, who were Midianite traders, came by, Joseph’s brothers pulled him out of the cistern and sold him to them for twenty pieces of silver. And the traders took him to Egypt.’ Genesis 37:28 .
Joseph knew that even when His family and everyone had given up on him, even sold him into slavery, God had huge dreams for him. He never gave up hope. He never let his faith waver.
I am reminded of all the scriptures in His Word.
‘Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.’ Psalms 139:14
‘“Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.”’ Psalms 46:10
‘Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.’ Psalms 37:7
‘But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.’ Isaiah 40:31
‘Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. ‘ Matthew 11:28
‘For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”’ Romans 10:13
God hears all your prayers (Psalm 139:4,
‘You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord .’ Psalms
1 John 5:14–15,
‘And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.’
In one sense, he answers all your prayers. But we do not always receive what we ask for. When we ask God for something, the response will be ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ or ‘Wait’
1 Peter 3:12
‘The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers. But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil.”’ 1 Peter 3:12
‘Because I am righteous, I will see you. When I awake, I will see you face to face and be satisfied.’ Psalms 17:15
‘If you can help your neighbor now, don’t say, “Come back tomorrow, and then I’ll help you.” Do not withhold good from those who deserve it when it’s in your power to help them. for the Lord is your security. He will keep your foot from being caught in a trap. You need not be afraid of sudden disaster or the destruction that comes upon the wicked, You can go to bed without fear; you will lie down and sleep soundly. They keep you safe on your way, and your feet will not stumble. for they will refresh your soul. They are like jewels on a necklace. My child, don’t lose sight of common sense and discernment. Hang on to them,’ Proverbs 3:21-28
‘But among you, it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”’ Matthew 20:26-28
‘I love you, Lord; you are my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. I called on the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and he saved me from my enemies. The ropes of death entangled me; floods of destruction swept over me. The grave wrapped its ropes around me; death laid a trap in my path. But in my distress I cried out to the Lord; yes, I prayed to my God for help. He heard me from his sanctuary; my cry to him reached his ears.’ Psalms 18:1-6
